Delhi, India’s capital territory, is a massive metropolitan area in the country’s north. In Old Delhi, a neighborhood dating to the 1600s, stands the imposing Mughal-era Red Fort, a symbol of India, and the sprawling Jama Masjid mosque, whose courtyard accommodates 25,000 people. Nearby is Chandni Chowk, a vibrant bazaar filled with food carts, sweets shops and spice stalls.

Humayun’s Tomb

Humayun's Tomb in Delhi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a magnificent garden mausoleum built for the Mughal Emperor Humayun, commissioned by his senior widow, Bega Begam. Completed in 1572, it is a prime example of Mughal architecture, inspired by Persian styles, and features a prominent charbagh garden, with water channels and pavilions. It's considered the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India and inspired the Taj Mahal.

The Qutub

The Qutub Minar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Delhi, India, standing 72.5 meters tall and known as the tallest masonry tower in India. Construction began in 1199 by Qutb-ud-din Aibak, and the tower was completed by his successor, Iltutmish. It is a historical monument of Indo-Islamic architecture, famous for its intricate carvings, projected balconies, and the surrounding Qutub complex with other ancient structures.

  • Agra Fort: The Agra Fort is a historical Mughal fort in the city of Agra, also known as Agra's Red Fort. Mughal emperor Humayun was crowned at this fort in 1530. It was later renovated by the Mughal emperor Akbar from 1565 and the present-day structure was completed in 1573.
  • Mehtab Bagh: Mehtab Bagh is a charbagh complex in Agra, North India. It lies north of the Taj Mahal complex and the Agra Fort on the opposite side of the Yamuna River, in the flood plains. The garden complex, square in shape, measures about 300 by 300 metres and is perfectly aligned with the Taj Mahal on the opposite bank.
  • Itmad-ud-Daula (Baby Taj): Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah is a Mughal mausoleum in the city of Agra in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
